Located in the heart of Kiberara, the biggest slum in Nairobi and one of the largest slums in the whole of Africa, the school and orphanage CHN St. Catherine Children and Educational Centre (St. Catherine) is taking care of about 300 pupils and 30 orphans. Organized as a self-help group by the inhabitants of Kibera, St. Catherine receives no support from outside institutions, therefor the conditions there are shocking.
